So, We Meet Again And So Soon

Will the result between Motherwell and Dundee United be any different from Saturday? Keith Lasley is an injury doubt for Motherwell ahead of tonight's Co-operative Insurance Cup quarter-final against Dundee United. He suffered a hamstring injury at the weekend in the 2-1 win over the Steelmen in the league but manager Craig Brown hopes he will be fit for the cup game. The former Scotland boss does not feel that Saturday's game between the two sides will have any influence on the outcome of this one. Brown has already out the league result to bed, but is cautious of a Dundee United backlash. Brown said: "Tuesday will be a very different game. I know you could argue that we have the psychological advantage but a cup fixture is certainly another matter. Winning on Saturday may even make United feel the need for revenge in the week and it could motivate them.'' Winger Craig Conway is doubtful for Dundee United after he limped off after 35 minutes of Saturday's game at Fir Park. He picked up a knock to the back of his knee last Thursday in training and is set to miss the quarter-final. Defender Darren Dods (knee) remains out, while midfielder Danny Swanson (back) is not yet fit to return but could play in Saturday's league match with Hibs. Manager Peter Houston has told his players he expects a vast improvement in their performance at the weekend. He said: "The good thing for us - well hopefully it's a good thing - is that we are here in the cup. We know Motherwell are a decent side but we have got an opportunity to correct that. The players are disappointed we lost the game. Normally after a poor performance they have always come back and answered the question that is asked of them. All I can hope for is that they answer that question on Tuesday.'' Editor Ger Harley (ger@scottishfitba net)Admin Team (admin@scottishfitba net)This is ScottishFitba Net
