Snodgrass Hoping To Have Double Celebrations

Robert Snodgrass is focused on Scotland and not himself
Robert Snodgrass will be celebrating his birthday ahead of hoping to celebrate again with a win over Serbia. Saturday sees Scotland meeting Serbia in their opening 2014 World Cup qualifier and Snodgrass celebrates his 25th birthday on Friday. The week started well for the Norwich player when he scored his first Premier League goal in a 1-1 draw at Tottenham at the weekend following his close-season move from Leeds. The former Livingston player smiled when asked about the potential for a great week. He said: "Not so much turning 25. I'm getting older but I am getting more experienced by playing down south and scoring and just being here with the squad is good. But for us to pick up maximum points would top it all off. Everyone is raring to go and there would be no better way than kicking off the campaign with a win at Hampden. We wouldn't be here if we didn't think we would get maximum points from both games and we will approach both games looking to win them. Brazil is what all the lads are driving towards and it will take hard work and endeavour. Saturday will be the massive test for us to see if all the hard work is paying off." Snodgrass also scored last August in his first start for Scotland in a 2-1 friendly win over Denmark at Hampden. However, the former Scotland Under-21 player is setting aside all thoughts of personal glory and is focusing only making a perfect start to the campaign. He went on: "I feel good, especially after getting a goal in the Premier League and I am glad it has come. And it would be good to get on the scoresheet on Saturday but as I said before, it's not about individuals, it is about team performances and I would gladly take three points any day."
