Snodgrass to make Scotland start

Robert Snodgrass will make his first start for Scotland in the friendly against Denmark at Hampden Park.

The Leeds winger and Liverpool defender Danny Wilson have both been named in Craig Levein's starting line-up for Wednesday night's game.

Snodgrass is one of several attack-minded midfielders in the team alongside Steven Naismith and James Morrison.

Allan McGregor continues in goal while Phil Bardsley starts at right-back after Steven Whittaker and Alan Hutton pulled out injured.

Blackpool's Stephen Crainey starts at left-back and Wilson partners Gary Caldwell in the centre.

Scott Brown and Charlie Adam complete the midfield quintet while captain Kenny Miller will play up front on his own.

Snodgrass has made two substitute appearances, against Northern Ireland and Brazil earlier this year. The 23-year-old former Livingston player missed the Carling Nations Cup games against Wales and the Republic of Ireland in May through injury.

Wilson, 19, also came on against Northern Ireland and Brazil and won the first of his three caps when he started - and scored - in a 3-0 friendly win over the Faroe Islands last year.

As well as Whittaker and Hutton, Levein also lost Kris Commons to injury.
