A first senior goal is the be celebrated and David Smith is looking to score more for Elgin. David Smith notched his first ever senior goal when Elgin City drew away from home at Annan at the weekend. His goal helped Ross Jack’s side pick up a point for the 3-3 draw and it was a great feeling for the midfielder. The former Cove Rangers midfielder had trials at English Championship side Sheffield United last Easter before agreeing to sign for the highland club.He said: “I was delighted to get my first goal for Elgin and it was all more the sweet when it marked a spirited comeback for the team. I felt we deserved a draw and hopefully it will give us confidence for the busy backlog of games coming up. It is always great to score so early into your stay at a new club and I have been pleased with the impact I have made on the games against both Montrose and now Annan. On a personal level, whilst the goal was my first in the SFL, my immediate target it is a starting place in the Elgin side.” Editor Ger Harley (ger@scottishfitba net)Admin Team (admin@scottishfitba net)This is Scottish-Fitba Net
