Books have to be balanced and Hamilton's squad numbers have been hit. Hamilton have continued the hardest part of the relegation process - letting players go as budgets have to be cut. They have announced the names of nine first-team players who will not be playing to bounce back into the SPL next season. David Buchanan, Gary McDonald, David Elebert, Gavin Skelton and Andy Graham have all appeared regularly for the first team this season, while Mark Carrington, Tom Elliott and substitute goalkeeper Sean Murdoch join them in leaving the club. Grant Evans and Aaron Wildig will return to Morton and Cardiff respectively after their loan periods end, while James Gibson is expected to retire after suffering a third serious knee injury in three years earlier this month.  Meanwhile, off the pitch, coach Stuart Taylor and sports science coach Ross Hughes will also leave New Douglas Park.  A statement from the club said: "The club extends its grateful thanks to all of them for their service to Accies, be it a few months in some cases, or eight years in the case of Grant Evans, who arrived as a 13-year-old youth in June 2003. Elebert, Gibson, Murdoch and Taylor had all been a part of the promotion team from three years ago. All of them leave with our very best wishes for wherever they end up in the future."
