Silver Lining For Clubs
Clubs have often been accused of not listening to their fans. It looks like that has changed
The debate over where newco Rangers should play has had a unforeseen benefit as clubs are now re-engaging with their fans. A number of SPL clubs consulted with the supporters before making their final decision on how to vote on newco Rangers application to replace liquidated Rangers in the top flight. Inverness chairman Kenny Cameron was one who voted against the application and reckons the reconnection of the club and it's fans has helped improve the relationship and has urged supporters to buy season tickets now the decision has been made. He said: "The newco debate actually created a re-energised relationship between the club and our fans, so it's important to build on that. We took on board their comments, with all the potential financial uncertainty that was attached to that decision, and we now need those who were refuseniks until we voted no to newco to come forward and do what they promised, as season ticket income is the lifeblood of a community club like ours."
