Shrinking Violet Nish

Strikers tend to have a bit of an ego but Colin NIsh wants others to be thanked for Hibs being back in Europe Hibs striker Colin Nish was not wanting to stand in the spotlight too long once Hibs had secured European football being brought back to Easter Road. He was more than happy to heap praise on strike partners Derek Riordan and Anthony Stokes as the Easter Road side booked their place in next season's Europa League with their 2-0 win at Tannadice. Nish has not struck the back of the net with the same regularity as Riordan and Stokes but it was he who scored twice in the win over United. He said: "I think it would be a bit unfair to say I scored the goals that have got us into Europe as Stokesy has scored over 20 goals this season and Derek is not that far behind. I don't mind if they get the headlines because as long as I'm playing in a side that is winning, I'm happy." The Hibs striker believes his side merited their place in Europe, despite a poor run of form which saw them win only once in their final eight league games. He added: "After our form at the start of the season I don't think anyone can say that we didn't deserve to finish fourth. We just went about it the hard way when you look at the run we have been on. Playing in Europe will be brilliant. It is something to look forward to and something a bit different from the last couple of years."
