Shocks Happen

Ross County are up for the challenge to be faced at Hampden today Ross County goalkeeper Michael McGovern has reminded his team-mates that "shocks happen'' in football. The Dingwall side have shown no problem with dealing with SPL opponents in both cups this season, having knocked Hamilton out of the Co-operative Insurance Cup and stunned Hibs in their Scottish Cup quarter-final replay last month. Now McGovern will get the chance to test himself against his former side at Hampden and he is relishing the opportunity. He said: "We're going into the game as massive underdogs but on the day it's 11 versus 11 - shocks happen. We'll be hoping Celtic don't play to their full potential on the day and we play to ours. I think they've definitely got a lift since Neil Lennon's taken over. You can see in their last couple of victories they have been harder to beat. There is always a positive reaction when a new manager comes in. From our point of view, it makes it more difficult for us but, even if there hadn't been a change, it would be a tough game anyway.''County boss Derek Adams is hoping to have a fully fit squad with Paul Lawson, Steven Watt and Gary Wood all looking set to be included. Former Celtic midfielder Lawson and defender Watt have been struggling with hamstring problems, while Wood has been suffering with a sickness bug. Celtic will be without Artur Boruc at Hampden today following the death of his father. The Celtic goalkeeper missed last week's game against Hibs and will not return from Poland until Sunday. Diomansy Kamara (hamstring) and Niall McGinn (thigh) are back in contention, while Robbie Keane will play through an on-going knee problem.
