See Scotland Twice In August

The gap between games for the national side ahead of the EURO2012 qualifying games in September proved too much of a temptation to fill. The SFA has set up a friendly against Denmark at Hampden on Wednesday 10 August. This will allow manager Craig Levein to get his squad together ahead of the EURO2012 double-header at home against Czech Republic (3 September) and Lithuania (6 September). Scotland fans will get the chance to see the future of the national side earlier in the day as Billy Stark’s under-21 side take on Norway in a friendly at St Mirren Park with a kick-off at 4pm. Levein said: “This game will be another tough challenge for us as we put the finishing touches to our preparations for the EURO2012 qualifiers against Czech Republic and Lithuania. Denmark will be a completely different proposition from our last opponents, Brazil. But it’s exactly the type of game we need going into the qualifiers, and will allow us to build on the Carling Nations Cup matches against Wales and Republic of Ireland in May. We can’t wait to walk out at Hampden again, and I’m sure the Scotland supporters will be looking forward to watching the national team on home turf as we gear up for the last half of the EURO2012 qualifying campaign. With the under-21s playing in Paisley earlier in the day, it promises to be a great day of Scotland action for the Tartan Army.” Vauxhall International Challenge GameScotland v DenmarkWednesday 10 August 2011Kick-off 7.45 pm Hampden, Glasgow
