Scotland skipper Scott Brown concedes it will need an outstanding performance to get anything from Germany in Monday night's Euro 2016 qualifier at Hampden Park.
Gordon Strachan's side suffered an unexpected 1-0 defeat away to Georgia on Friday night which left them in fourth place in Group D, one point behind Republic of Ireland who now occupy the play-off place, as the world champions went top with a 3-1 home win over Poland.
The Celtic captain is well aware of the magnitude of the task that awaits the Scots but he insists that they are in fine fettle as they approach the final three qualifying fixtures
"We have got over that result and we need to focus on the game ahead," he said.
"The performance wasn't great but it was still good enough to get a point or a victory on another day.
"Sometimes you need a little bit of luck and they got that luck.
"We are playing the world champions tomorrow night and we are going to need a full house behind us for 90 minutes but the performance has to be outstanding to try to get anything.
"I think everyone has to be at their best and it has to be a team performance.
"We will also need some luck and individual brilliance as well but we have definitely got that in the team."
The midfielder, however, does not believe it is win or bust for Scotland.
"There are still nine points to play for," he said.
"If we can get anything against Germany, it will be great.
"It is going to be hard. We know what a good team they are but on our day, with 50,000 fans at Hampden, anything can happen.
"We are as disappointed as everyone else is (after Georgia).
"It was a great chance for us to get a point or three on the board and we didn't.
"That's gone now and we need to focus on the nine points that we have got left."
