Scotland striker Kenny Miller has been ruled out of his country's Euro 2012 qualifier against Liechtenstein due to a groin injury.

Miller missed training on Friday and Scotland's medical team decided the Cardiff star wouldn't be able to recover in time to feature in Vaduz on Saturday.

Scotland manager Craig Levein remains hopeful Miller will be fit for his team's Group I fixture against world champions Spain in Alicante on Tuesday as they try to snatch second place from the Czech Republic.

A statement on the Scottish Football Association website read: "Kenny Miller will not play against Liechtenstein.

"He will continue to be assessed ahead of Tuesday's match against Spain."
