Scotland 3-0 Faroe Islands: Report

16 November 2010 18:05

Danny Wilson, Kris Commons and Jamie Mackie all netted their first international goals as Scotland claimed a convincing 3-0 win over the Faroe Islands at Pittodrie.

Liverpool defender Wilson and Barry Bannan made their debuts from the start, while James McArthur, Cammy Bell, Craig Bryson, Steven Saunders and David Goodwillie also picked up first caps as manager Craig Levein made full use of the friendly to assess the players at his disposal.

The victory in Aberdeen saw the Scots return to winning ways after back-to-back European qualifying defeats against Czech Republic and Spain, with Levein claiming this was a worthwhile exercise despite suffering nine withdrawals beforehand.
