Inverness manager Terry Butcher is looking at the winter break to have being as helpful as signing a new player. Butcher is not planning on bringing in any new faces when the transfer window opens, unless to replace any players who decide to move on. Instead, he hopes the return of two free weekends next month will provide enough of a boost for the remainder of the season. He said: "I'm not really looking at doing any business in January. If someone goes from the club for whatever reason, then we can look to replace. But at this moment in time, I'm happy with the squad I've got. We haven't got a lot of money to go and do things, that's the way things are. The break will help players recuperate and regenerate and be ready for the second half of the season. That break is probably as valuable to me and the players as a new signing. We have to utilise it very well. I'm not even thinking about activity in January. I'm now thinking about concluding contracts with some of the players and also getting maximum points from the next four games." Butcher is keen to make sure Inverness turn a deaf ear to any calls noting interest in influential duo Billy McKay and Andrew Shinnie. He added: "We're pretty close to doing that and if we can conclude that soon I'll be delighted. Hopefully that will be the catalyst for other players to continue being with us." Inverness welcome bottom side Dundee to the Highlands this weekend and, although keen to continue their fine run of form, Butcher insists there is no chance of taking them for granted. He said: "There's still plenty of time for their players to gel and get together. You can see that they've started to do that and they've got pretty much a settled side. Apart from the occasional blip, they've done reasonably well in terms of picking up results. They are an SPL team and we'll certainly treat them with great respect. But we want to continue the good work the players have shown over the season and ensure that we keep our run going."
