Roxburgh to stand down at UEFA

Andy Roxburgh, the former Scotland manager, is to stand down as UEFA technical director after nearly 20 years.
Roxburgh, 69, who guided Scotland in the 1990 World Cup in Italy and Euro '92 in Sweden, was appointed in 1994 and will leave at the end of this month.
He is not expected to be replaced but UEFA will maintain the department he has been in charge of.
His last duty will be presenting the Euro 2012 technical analysis to a conference of national team coaches in Warsaw, Poland, on September 24-26, Roxburgh said.
Roxburgh wants to stay in the game, though, and get involved again in a more hands-on role.
He cited the example of Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and Republic of Ireland head coach Giovanni Trapattoni, who are both still in management in their 70s.
"It's just a natural process. My contract comes to an end. I don't intend to hang up my coaching boots. We will try to find some life in the old boots," he explained.
