Reward For Hard Work

Killie finally managed to get three points for their efforts Kilmarnock manager Mixu Paatelainen was full of praise for his defence after a clinical attacking display earned victory at Tynecastle against Hearts. Killie have now scored eight times away from Rugby Park this season - two more than in the whole of last term - but yesterday's result was just a second clean sheet of the season. Paatelainen said: "We've conceded this season too many goals for my liking and everyone was fantastic. This is a good match to analyse with the boys and look at the positive stuff they did defensively." Paatelainen was also pleased Killie's strong performances were finally rewarded with a win after four straight defeats. The manager substituted Rui Miguel before half-time yesterday, before explaining why by putting a consoling arm around the striker.  Paatelainen said: "It was purely tactical. Rui Miguel is a fantastic football player, technically excellent, a player who can make things happen. But I felt I made a mistake playing his type of player and I wanted to tell him exactly why."
