Revenge Is Sweet But Points Are Sweeter

Dundee United will be sent out tomorrow to pick up three points.

Dundee United manager Peter Houston still thinks about the  4-0 loss at Inverness ahead of the return fixture tomorrow. However Houston believes his team have already bounced back from that day and are not looking for revenge but are more interested in picking up all three points to move them up the table. United have taken 15 points from nine SPL games since that defeat on 29 September and a home win on Saturday would put them two points behind their visitors who are in second-place with a game in hand. Houston said: "I think it's still in their mind, the fact we were so poor that day after the first half hour. We let ourselves down. Sometimes it's a reality check for players and management and everyone connected with the football side of the club. We were all hurting for quite a wee while after that. I've got a great bunch of players, an honest bunch, and they knew they hadn't done well. They didn't down tools but they can do a lot better than they did. I think since then we have shown that. We have played well in matches, maybe not won them all. There have been games we have drawn after going behind that we could have won and should have won. It's not a case of revenge in any way. We are well past that. We don't think that because one team convincingly beat you, you want to get revenge. We think the next game we try to get revenge by winning. We have won the last couple of games and we are hoping to start a home run, which would pump us up the table, because our away form is good."
