Revenge Could Be Sweet For Saints

St Johnstone nearly forced extra time on Wednesday with the quality of their fightback. WIll they be able to carry on where they left off? Derek McInnes expects to name a similar St Johnstone side to the one who lost to Celtic on Wednesday when they welcome the same team for the lunchtime game at McDairmid Park today. Murray Davidson took a knock to his ankle but should be fit as Saints attempt to make amends for their Co-operative Insurance Cup exit. Graham Gartland and Kevin Moon (both knee) and Jody Morris (rib) are still all out. McInnes insists his players are relishing the prospect of a chance to take on Celtic again. Saints were left reeling when they went three goals down within 13 minutes in midweek. They rallied to give Celtic a fright and just failed to force extra-time as the game ended 3-2. McInnes said: "We've still got to be excited about the Old Firm coming to our place. It's another big game and we're just hoping we can impose ourselves better than we did the other night. Certainly, we hope we can start the game a lot better and give ourselves an opportunity to try and get something from the game. We gave ourselves a real uphill struggle the other night but credit to the players for showing the character and determination to get themselves back into the game. We didn't do enough to force the game into extra-time and we are out of the cup now so we have to forget about that now. We will learn from the game but all our focus and energy is on the league game now. Our job now is to make sure we are ready for the league game on Saturday and we will be.''
