Revenge Could be Sweet For Clyde

It has been a long time since Rangers played Clyde but come August that will all change. Clyde will play Rangers into a friendly at Broadwood on Wednesday, 4 August much to the delight of recently installed head coach Stuart Millar. The Ibrox first team will be visiting Cumbernauld for the first time in three years. It was a Nacho Novo goal which separated the sides on that occasion in a game which included cameo performances from Govan legends Brian Laudrup, Arthur Numan and Jorg Albertz. Millar said: “I am delighted with this fixture because as a player or coach you want to compete against the best and Rangers have proven to be just that in recent years. Our league campaign starts three days later but I am sure our brand new group of hungry, young players will look back on this game with fond memories.”The game is a chance of revenge for Millar who went on: "As a Clyde player, I had the privilege of playing against Rangers in the Skol Cup in 1988 at Firhill, however we lost three-nil. I think the board of directors here should be credited for managing to organise such a high profile match.” Editor Ger Harley (ger@scottishfitba net)Admin Team (admin@scottishfitba net)This is Scottish-Fitba.Net
