No ghost writing for Ian Redford who shows he can write a nice turn of phrase

After ignoring advice not to play any contact sport to protect his deaf ear, Ian Redford forged a career that hit the heights of Scottish football. You get the chance to read if from the horses mouth with the publication of "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head", Ian Redford's autobiography. Starting off with Errol Rovers, his career saw him play for both Dundee clubs, Ipswich and Rangers. While that was in the public eye, Redford also had to deal with life off the pitch which dealt him some tough cards to cope with. His farmer father was not the easiest man to deal with and his mother had her own battle with alcohol to handle. Some of the anguish they suffered could be linked to how the family coped with his young brother Douglas succumbing to leukaemia. Some hard life lessons along the way but they all used to good effect as he forged his professional football career. A grounded man who took all that life threw at him and came up smiling, despite coping with depression along the way. Another book option for Christmas.

"Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head Ian Redford My Autobiography" is published today, 19 November 2013 by Black and White Publishing priced £15.99 ISBN978-1-84502-735-3
