Travel broadens the mind and young players gain invaluable experience if they get the chance to go abroad Once again the amateur side Queen’s Park are getting funding from the European Community funded Da Vinci Project towards a trip overseas for their young players. This time around the Spiders’ Under-19 side will benefit from a trip to Turkey for a two week training camp in January. Teh Da Vinci project is meeting the majority of the cost with fans rallying round to meet the four figure shortfall. So far £700 has been raised with a Quiz Night organised for this Saturday and there will also be a raffle for two silver debenture packages for this season’s Scottish Cup Final. Supporters chief Keith McAllister said: "We are hoping that these two events will push us over the £1,000 mark for support."Last season fans and former players met the cost extra players joining the trip to  Portugal when the club became the first ever amateur club to receive funding from the Da Vinci Project.
