Portugal For Pre-Season Preparations

Warm eather always helps the pre-season training. The Buddies are hoping to make new friends before the start of the new season when they fly to Portugal for a six-day training camp as part of their pre-season preparations. Manager Danny Lennon will be taking his players will head to a purpose-built resort in the Algarve on 25 June to get ready for the new season. The St Mirren manager hopes to arrange a friendly with local opposition during their stay. St Mirren's general manager, Brian Caldwell, said: "The squad will report for pre-season on June 17 and train for a week at Ralston. They will then fly out to the Algarve on June 25 for a six-day training camp. They will be staying in a hotel with a couple of training pitches. It is supposed to be one of the best facilities in the Algarve. The hotel is specifically geared up for sports teams to stay there and benefit from some warm-weather training. Hopefully, that will allow Danny and the team to prepare as best they can for the new season. There's also a possibility they will play a bounce game over there against a local side."
