Playing for Nothing

Jamie Stevenson is willing to invest now to reap the benefits later. East Stirlingshire have never been the richest club but they must have something about them that encourages players to play for them. So much so that midfield schemer Jamie Stevenson has returned and will play for nothing and will be manager Jim McInally’s squad for their trip to Annan. The one time Real Mallorca player, who has also had spells at Alloa and Morton, originally left at the end of the season with a view to findinmg a new club. However, as nobody was willing to offer any kind of deal, he has returned for a month to put himself in the shop window.Head coach Jim McInally said: “Jamie has been in here on and off during the summer training after he failed to get a new club. This way he can now play and try and impress a new side whilst we get a really good player to help us out. We can not sign him longer term but it would be a shame if a player of his ability was sitting in the house on a Saturday rather than out playing."  Editor Ger Harley (ger@scottishfitba.net)Admin Team (admin@scottishfitba.net)This is Scottish-Fitba.Net
