Playing For His Hibs Future

A lot of players are out to show their managers that they should be offered a new deal Former Bolton striker Ricardo Vaz Te is hoping he can show Hibs manager Colin Calderwood that he deserves a new deal to stay at the club. He accepts he needs to enjoy a positive end of the season in order to earn a new contract. Vaz Te has scored once, in the Edinburgh Derby, in five appearances since joining Hibs on a short-term deal at the end of February. He is happy at Easter Road and is determined to convince manager Colin Calderwood that he is worthy of a more long-term arrangement. Vaz Te said: "I'm just trying to finish the season in my best form and I will analyse whatever comes of that. I've not had any chat with the manager at this particular time. I'll leave that to my agent. But what I would say is that I'm very settled. I'm happy and I've nothing to complain about. I'm very grateful for the way the club have treated me. But I can't speculate. I just have to focus on finishing the season as best I can. The manager is definitely right when he says I need to show more. If that's the best of me I'm pretty much in a downfall. I need to reflect on that and hopefully get better next time."
