Paartalu Is Such Sweet Sorrow

There comes a time to call it quits an head home. If your home is Australia and it is snowing in Scotland the time is now. Morton’s Australian midfielder Erik Paartalu is to head home and sign for Hyundai A-League side Brisbane Roar on a three year deal. Brisbane were previously known as Queensland Roar and include former Rangers defender Bob Malcolm in their squad. Paartalu came to Scotland in 2006 and joined Gretna to be part of the squad that won promotion to the SPL. After making just three appearances in the top league, Paartalu moved to Stirling Albion on loan before linking up with his former Raydale boss David Irons at Cappielow.  Paartalu said: "My contract was running down with Morton in the summer and there was plenty of interest from Brisbane boss Ange Postecoglou. I have been watching the progress of the A-League and I always imagined myself playing in it, it was just a matter of timing of when to come back. It was an opportunity I couldn’t refuse really."
