One For The Record Books

If you are a record breaking make sure it is a decent record to break.

Hamilton Accies on-loan St Johnstone striker Stevie May could break an 81 year old club record of he has his scoring boots on again tonight when the Accies face Livingston. May has scored hat tricks in two successive games, against Airdrie United last Tuesday in a 5-0 success and on Saturday in the 3-0 win at Livingston, to match the exploits of Alex Herd who scored against Airdrieonians and East Stirlingshire back in 1932.

Club Secretary Scott Struthers said: "Stevie now has 22 goals in 31 games for us this season and like Alex Herd he hails for Fife. We have had players that have had good weeks in terms of goalscoring with Paul Ritchie scoring 9 league goals over 3 games but he hit a 4, a 3 and a 2. David McFarlane scored two goals for 3 games running but no-one else has hit consecutive hat-tricks for several decades. If he gets another hat-trick he will be in the record books on his own."
