Odense Caught On The Wrong Foot

Motherwell's style put Odense off their natural game last week and the Danes didn't like it. Odense coach Lars Olsen knows that Motherwell succeeded in knocking his team off their stride in Denmark last week. However, he is sure his team will be better prepared at Fir Park tonight as they bring a 2-1 lead to the second leg of their Europa League play-off rie. Tom Hateley's stoppage-time free-kick has set up a fascinating encounter in Lanarkshire and Olsen admitted the tie was wide open. Speaking yesterday, the Odense BK manager said: "It was an equal game. They came to Odense with a lot of physique and we couldn't play our own game. Therefore I think it was equal. But I'm also sure we can play better than we did in Odense. But I think Motherwell can play better in Scotland. It will be an exciting game and I'm looking forward to it." Olsen, whose team let slip a two-goal lead in the last 10 minutes against 10-man Brondby at the weekend, said: "We played a lot better on Sunday and I hope we play better tomorrow." Midfielder Eric Djemba-Djemba is expecting another physical encounter. The former Manchester United player said: "It's the kind of game I like. It will be full and everyone needs to give what he has. The best man will go through. It will be a physically tough game. If you want to be a big player, you need to deal with that. It's like that in Britain. They are tough and they like to go, that's their game. We need to accept that because we are here." Olsen has lost Johan Absalonsen from the first leg but expects fellow midfielder Rurik Gislason to shake off an injury. And he admits he is concerned by his team's susceptibility to late goals. He said: "Of course it's a problem, when you lose five or six goals that way. When the game is going on it is difficult for me to say how they react in the last minute."
