Not Want Lennon Wanted To See

A home game but a hard defeat to take for the Buddies after the winter break

Danny Lennon was not pleased with what he witnessed yesterday as St Mirren suffered a 4-1 home defeat to Ross County. The Buddies manager described his side's display as one of the worst he had seen during his time in charge. Steven Thompson managed to get the home side on equal terms after Richard Brittain's opener soon after the restart but Lennon's side failed to build any momentum from there. Ex-Hibee, Sam Morrow and Ross County's new boy Ivan Sproule provided a brace to ensure the visitors headed back to Dingwall with all three points.  Lennon said: "We looked the more likely after getting the equaliser. What frustrated me was we let the individual errors affect us and stopped doing what we were doing 10 seconds before the ball hit the net. It was a group of players I didn't really recognise today, it rips me up inside to say Ross County wanted it more than we did. With the standards we set at the club and history we have, that is one of the worst performances I have seen."
