Not The Time To Relax
Hamilton will go all out to win on Monday but the Buddies will be determined to see them head home pointless. Hugh Murray has warned his St Mirren teammates against complacency as Hamilton prepare to visit Paisley for the second time this month. The Buddies had to thanks Michael Higdon for his hat-trick which saw Saints beat Accies 3-1 in their previous meeting. The win took them move nine points ahead of the Accies in the battle to avoid relegation from the top flight. St Mirren have maintained the same gap and a win on Monday afternoon would make sure they were playing SPL football next season. However, it is not a foregone conclusion that the Buddies just need to turn up tomorrow to collect the three points. Hamilton have shown signs of improvement in recent weeks with captain Alex Neil back pulling the strings in midfield following a hip problem. Billy Reid's men secured their first SPL win since October when they beat Hibs at Easter Road two weeks ago and followed that up with a draw against Aberdeen. Murray warned Hamilton's determination to avoid seeing their rivals seal their SPL status would spur them on even more. He said: "It will be another tough game because I don't think Hamilton would like us celebrating on the park staying up in front of them. They can still stay up, there are still four games to go and I'm sure they will be looking to get back following the game a few weeks ago and get one over us." Murray will set a new club appearance record of 459 first-team games if he plays against Hamilton. The midfielder, who made his debut in 1997, is eager to celebrate his achievement by extending the club's stay in the top flight. Murray, whose contract expires at the end of the season, said: "This is our fifth season, we have four games left and it would be another massive achievement for the club. I've been here a long time and the way the club has progressed for the last six or seven years has been brilliant. We need to be in the Premier League to keep going in the right direction."
