Not The Same Again

Motherwell know how to fight back but they do not want to have to do today what they did in May Motherwell striker Jamie Murphy does not want to experience the same sort of game today as the last time the Steelmen met Hibs. Motherwell looked dead and buried before they fought back from four goals down to record a 6-6 draw in injury time in a memorable Fir Park clash in May. The game was so dramatic that Murphy and his fellow players did forget some crucial aspects of the occasion at the time - such as the score. The Scotland Under-21 international has fond memories of Motherwell's comeback but he is aiming to ensure they are not in a similar position today.  He said: "I hope it doesn't get that far and we don't concede that many goals again but a 6-6 doesn't happen that often. I'm sure that was pretty special last year. It was a very strange game, every five minutes someone was asking what the score was and nobody knew. It was a very special night and something that doesn't happen very often. I just remember in the changing room afterwards everyone was celebrating like we had won the game. It was a great feeling and something I'll always remember." Hibs striker Derek Riordan does not look back on that day in May with the same rosy glow as he watched his team's collapse from the touchline. Riordan put Hibs 3-1 ahead and thought he had done his job after being taken off midway through the second half. The striker said: "It was really frustrating. I got substituted at 6-2 or 6-3 and sitting watching us lose the goals back to six-all was really disappointing because we needed the victory that night to get us into Europe. So to lose that and have to go and win at Dundee United was quite hard. The gaffer was screaming his head off as usual - you get used to that."
