Not An Easy Game To Come Back To

SPL business is the bread and butter that help you reach the Champions League.

It is back to domestic chores for Celtic as the welcome Inverness on Saturday. Kelvin Wilson wants it to be a return to winning as well after the 2-1 UEFA Champions League defeat to Benfica in Lisbon on Tuesday. It may not be an easy game for the home side as Thistle will be looking to erase the memory of the surprise 5-1 setback at home to Motherwell last weekend. The English centre-half said: "Inverness are a team that have upset Celtic a few times over the years, and they also had a bad result last weekend as well and will be wanting to change that. But we will go into with confidence like we do every game. The main thing is to win the match but hopefully we can also put a good performance on in front of our own fans as well." Celtic had a better weekend than Inverness as they enjoyed a 2-0 win over Aberdeen at Pittodrie. Wilson believes that could turn out to be the most vital three points of the domestic campaign. The win at Pittodrie ended a run of three games without three points and took Celtic back to the top of the league. Wilson went on: "It might be our most important win of the season. Obviously we hadn't won in three games in the league and had dropped some points so it was vital we returned to winnings ways. We had to win the game and there was a lot of pressure on us, so hopefully now we can go on and build on it now and embark on a run in the league. Undoubtedly there was pressure on us with the way results had gone recently, with losing to Kilmarnock and drawing the two games. It was an early kick-off as well, so all the other teams were watching to see how we got on. But we were also confident we could get a positive result, and while there was pressure on us, that's why the gaffer brings us here - as we should be able to deal with that, and I felt we did. We hadn't won a game for three games, so now we need to build a platform and try and go on a winning run. Hopefully this is the start of something."
