Football will be back on the agenda with pre-season friendlies being agreed

Pre-season training starts again soon with games being lined up to get the rust out of the players legs. Hearts, while they have problems off the field, are making plans for the new season. They are lined up to take on Spanish outfit Celta Vigo in their opening game of a pre-season tournament in Ballymena next month. The Primera Division outfit have been confirmed as the fourth team to participate in the season warm-up event and will line up against Hearts at The Showgrounds on Thursday, 25 July. The Gorgie side will complete their stay in Northern Ireland with a second game on the Saturday against either hosts Crusaders or a Liverpool XI, who kick-off the tournament on the Wednesday evening.Hearts have already announced that manager Gary Locke will be taking his squad to Fife to open their pre-season schedule next month and will play Dunfermline and Raith Rovers. The Jambos will line up against Scottish Cup-winning former manager Jim Jefferies and his Dunfermline side at East End Park on Saturday, 13 July and  Raith at Stark's Park on Wednesday 17 July.
