No Highland Welcome For Celtic

Inverness want to call a halt to Celtic's run of winning games tomorrow.

Terry Butcher's Inverness side is just the one to end Celtic's winning run according to the man himself. The sides meet tomorrow  in their Scottish Cup fifth-round tie at the Caledonian stadium. Caley go into the game on a run of being unbeaten in seven games. That run is doubled by Celtic who have won 14 successive domestic games on their way to the top of the SPL and into the final of the Scottish Communities League Cup final, where they play Kilmarnock at Hampden next month. However, Caley manager Butcher is looking to bring Celtic's impressive run to a halt in the Highlands. He said: "The boys know the importance of the game, they know the opposition and how well Celtic are playing at the moment because they are on an excellent run themselves too. But runs have to come to an end and we want to end Celtic's run and make progress in this competition. To do that we have got to be at our best and we have got to give it everything. I am very happy with the guys, the way they are talking, training and they are looking forward to the game. We want to enjoy it on Saturday and to do that we have to give our very best and see where that takes us. We will certainly have a go." Butcher is hoping to enjoy the luck which he believes deserted his side in November when Celtic visited on SPL duty. He said: "We haven't really performed at the level we would like to in the cup. But it's not about great displays of pure football, it's about winning cup ties and doing enough to win or maybe getting that little bit of luck to put you through. We are looking for that, which we will need against Celtic. We didn't have that when Greg Tansey was sent off in the 38th minute the last time we played Celtic here and we lost 2-0, but up until then I felt we were more than a match for them. So we can take a lot of encouragement from that."
