No Deal Done For Daly Just yet
There will always be interested in somebody who scores goals
Dundee United manager Jackie McNamara knows the realities of having a talented player like Jon Daly. Clubs will want to relieve him of the burden of agreeing a new deal with him and Rangers have made it known that they are hoping to get a deal done when their signing embargo ends on 1 September. However, it is unlikely that Rangers will be the only club willing to step in for the striker who has scored 12 goals this season to add to the 22 he scored last season. Rangers also have Motherwell midfielder Nicky Law on their wanted list. McNamara wants Daly to stay beyond his current deal which ends in the summer. The new Dundee United manager has already spoken briefly with Daly about his future and agreed to reassess the situation at a later date. McNamara said: "Jon has been a great player for Dundee United in his time here. I think it's credit to him that he's highly sought after and I'm not surprised, it's not just Rangers. It's down to the lad and what's best for him and his family. If it is with us then great, if not then it is part and parcel of football, you just have to get on with it."
