No Villa Holiday For McLeish

Alex McLeish obviously likes a challenge and will have to win over the Aston Villa faithful. Death threats? Did someone say death threats? Alex McLeish survived three years in the Old Firm goldfish bowl and came to the Rangers hot-seat after playing for an Aberdeen side in the 80s who dared to come to Glasgow and win regularly.  It seems some Villa fans are unimpressed with their Ginger supremo but Big Eck, one of the Scottish magnificent managerial seven in the Premiership, is ready to smoke the peace pipe with the claret and blue doubters. Oh ye Villa fans of little faith.  I seem to remember some doubting Kevin's in Brum when a certain Scots striker from Dundee United arrived at Villa Park in 1977. A diving header in a win over Manchester United soon turned the zero into a hero and Andy Gray is still fondly remembered as a player in the Midlands.  Scots love the Villa as former captain Alan Evans will tell you and don't forget the Tartan Army who saw the national side remain unbeaten against the Swiss and the Dutch at Villa at Euro 96. Big Eck is an honest grafter and recognises Villa as a heritage club Villa have a famous fan in Ozzy Osbourne and Aston is the place where they filmed The Golden Shot but Eck is neither paranoid or fearing Bernie the bolt if I know him. Being already under rated at Villa will suit him down to a tee. Just like the Villa motto McLeish is Prepared and I confidentially predict he will turn the Facebook fiends round to his way of thinking!  Go Big Eck, the homeland watches with interest. Up here we know the ex Scotland manager who only missed out on Euro 08 due to a defeat by world champions Italy is no managerial Learner. Randy and Alex celebrating silverware by next May? Why not?
