No Time To Relax
Airdries cannot afford to relax just yet as they fight to retain their Division One status. Airdrie's 4-1 win at Ayr United in midweek boosted their chances of survival in Division One. However, manager Kenny Black wants everybody to keep their feet on the ground and not get carried away that the job has been completed. Black has has injury worries for Saturday’s trip to Dumfries to meet the Doonhamers. Black said: “Alan Trouten missed out against Ayr because of a hamstring problem and we could do with having his creativity back for this one. Defender Bobby Donnelly is struggling with the ankle injury that saw him substituted in the first half so we are not in the ideal position. We are still expected to be the team that is relegated but we have given ourselves a chance now if Ayr slip up in one of their remaining games.” Queen of the South are also concerned over player availability with four players picking up injuries against Ross County in midweek. The spine of the team has been affected with goalkeeper David Hutton, full back Paul Burns, midfielder Jamie Adams and striker Derek Holmes all struggling to be fit and they could join the suspended pair of Bob Harris and Stephen McKenna on the sidelines.
