No Time To Relax

Two wins on the bounce is a start to Hibs recovery but they appear to have left it very late Midfielder Ian Murray insists Hibs are not out of relegation trouble yet - despite winning another game to move eight points clear of Hamilton who are rooted to the bottom of the league. A hard-fought 2-1 win over Kilmarnock at Easter Road gave Hibs more breathing space at the bottom after Accies lost to Hearts, but Murray is refusing to get carried away. He said: "I think it is comforting for us that the gap is bigger on Hamilton but it has only taken two weeks to get that gap and they can pull it back because they have two games in hand over us. We have them fairly soon and if we finish in the bottom six then we're going to play them again so we know there is a long way to go. We're not getting too carried away. We will keep working away. If we can win the next two games (against St Mirren and Inverness) we can look at pushing towards the upper half of the table. We have had two home games and won them. We have St Mirren next and if we can win that we can maybe look to pushing ourselves up the table a bit." In what has been a tumultuous season for Hibs, they are now seven points behind sixth-placed Dundee United, who have four games in hand, but Murray believes finishing in the top half of the SPL could be just out of reach. He added: "We have to catch St Johnstone and we can maybe drag Motherwell in it a little bit. I'm not going to sit here and say we're pushing to the top six. We might have left that a little too late this season. It will depend on the next couple of results. If we can win the next two then maybe. We'll see where we are and if we can sneak in then we'll be delighted." Editor Ger Harley (ger@scottishfitba net)Admin Team (admin@scottishfitba net)This is ScottishFitba Net
