No Repeat Offence Expected

It was a crime to lose by nine goals and Aberdeen are a different prospect this time around. Craig Brown has banished talk of Aberdeen's last visit to Parkhead, when the visitors suffered a  9-0 thrashing, as the Dons prepare to pay a return visit. Much has changed since that incredible November day with manager Mark McGhee being replaced by Brown and the side becoming not such a soft touch. Aberdeen are unbeaten in the five games since Brown and Archie Knox took official charge, which eased the threat of relegation, and the pair have added four players to the squad. Rob Milsom made his debut in last week's 2-0 win over St Mirren while on-loan Blackburn striker Nick Blackman could make it for the game after recovering from a virus. Brown said: "The last visit to Celtic Park has never been mentioned and it won't be mentioned. Every game is different so we're not even contemplating discussing that. Everything we do is positive. We don't want to touch on anything that's negative at all. When I arrived here we had a word beginning with 'R'. I didn't ban it from the dressing room but we never used it and we're still not using it even though we have that competition to fight. So we won't be talking about any previous match against Celtic. Every time we prepare a team we prepare it with an offensive emphasis. People think we are quite defensive because we don't lose goals. You don't lose goals if you play the game in the other half and that's the objective." Brown has sought to take the pressure off his players as they begin a three-game schedule against Celtic over an 11-day spell. He said: "Last week was a bigger challenge because we were playing a competing team in our half of the league. We have nothing to lose this week. This should be a more difficult game in terms of league position, but last week's game was more important. This is a great opportunity to express yourself and enjoy the game and not to think of anything else but success. There is no point going out with a negative mindset because you are beaten before you start." Brown, who has also brought in defenders David McNamee and Myles Anderson, is now looking to bring in another midfielder to complete his transfer window shopping trip. However, it is not expected to be Norwich midfielder Stephen Hughes, who Brown says was only a "peripheral" target despite asking Canaries boss Paul Lambert about his availability. Speaking yesterday, Brown said: "That's unlikely because we have another major target. A lot will depend on what happens in tomorrow's matches. His availability will depend on what happens with a replacement player. I never like to speculate and name a player before he comes here."
