Murray On The Right Track

After a long time injury you have to be careful on the return journey Queen’s Park coach Gardner Speirs is hoping winger David Murray will have no reaction to playing in a reserve game on Monday night. Murray has been out for the last four months with a hamstring problem, managed to play as a substitute against Ross County at the weekend. The former Hoops and Buddies man played himself into contention for a starting place in the Spiders’ first league game of the season, away to Annan on Saturday, despite being on the losing side against Airdrie’s second eleven on Monday with a 2-0 reverse. The Hampden side are also hoping that top goalscorer from last season Jamie Longworth can prove his fitness at training this week to be included in the travelling party.
