Much Mbu About Nothing

Joe Mbu believes he will play his way back to a full contract. Defender Joe Mbu has been signed on again at Cowdenbeath on a 'pay as you play' deal. The centre back joined the Blue Brazil three years ago from Whitburn Juniors and was a mainstay as the Fife side won back-to-back promotions from the Third to the First Division under previous manager Danny Lennon. However, last season's efforts for the 'Beath was limited to a few games due to a persistent knee injury. Mbu hopes that the operation he underwent in April will see the back of the problem. He is now back in full training and his contract will revert to normal terms once he has played an agreed number of games for Colin Cameron’s side this season. Cameron said: "Joe has shown his loyalty to the club by agreeing this deal. He is a big player for us so I am delighted that he has agreed terms for the new season. We are all looking forward to seeing Joe return to his pre-injury form and playing an important part in what we all hope will be a successful season."
