More Good News For Motherwell

Craig Brown is working some kind of magic at Fir park as another player signs a new deal. Motherwell manager Craig Brown must be doing something right to persuade another experienced player to agree another contract. Captain Stephen Craigan has followed Keith Lasley in signing a new contract at the club. Northern Ireland defender Craigan signed a one-year deal just a few hours after midfielder Lasley extended his stay at Fir Park for another two years. Both players may not have been given the chance if Jim Gannon was still in charge at Fir Park but they have enjoyed a new lease of life since Brown took over at the end of last year. Craigan and Lasley forged their reputations at Fir Park before leaving for Partick Thistle and Plymouth in 2000 and 2004, respectively. However, both returned to the club, Craigan in 2003, followed by Lasley three years later. They are the second and third players to sign new contracts with the Steelmen recently after Steven Hammell did the same two weeks ago. Brown said: "I am delighted that Stephen has signed an extension to his contract. Crags, along with other experienced guys like Las and Hammell, is hugely influential and the fact the he is remaining with us for at least another year is a massive bonus. I don't expect this will be the last contract he will sign with Motherwell either as he has proven that he is still very capable of playing at the very top level for a long time yet."   Editor Ger Harley (ger@scottishfitba.net)Admin Team (admin@scottishfitba.net)This is Scottish-Fitba.Net
