Miller May Make It

Scotland manager Craig Levein is hoping Kenny Miller is a quick healer

It appears Kenny Miller's groin injury is not as bad as painted by his club manager Malky Mackay. The Cardiff City manager thought it would be very doubtful for Miller to recover in time to play in either of Scotland's final EURO2012 qualifying group games. However, a scan carried out yesterday indicated the striker's groin injury does not require him to withdraw from the squad to face Liechtenstein and Spain. The SFA confirmed that Miller underwent tests on Monday which showed there has been an improvement since Saturday when the former Rangers and Celtic player had to go off early in City's 2-1 defeat by Hull.

Scotland manager Craig Levein will have been encouraged by the findings but Miller will continue to be monitored this week. The squad fly out from Glasgow on Thursday afternoon in preparation for the game against Liechtenstein in Vaduz on Saturday night before facing Spain in Alicante three days later. Miller was confident that he would have a role to play when he said: "I'm feeling pretty positive and I am not in a lot of pain. I don't think it is a serious injury."
