Media Is Just Wylde About Gregg

21 March 2011 21:45
Gregg Wylde appears to be mature beyond his years. Let's hope he continues to listen to the right people Scotland's Under 21s will soon be heading off to take on their hosts Belgium on Thursday 24 March 2011 in a friendly game at the Van De Wielestadion, Deinze with a 7pm kick-off. The media were invited along to the Beardmore Hotel in Clydebank today to meet the coaches and players before they set off. David Wotherspoon  and Gregg Wylde were popular choices with the latter sitting with his first medal ever won for his part in the Co-operative Insurance Cup Final win for Rangers. He was bright-eyed and bushy-tailed as he went home early from the celebrations to be alert for joining up with his Scotland teammates this morning. After his showing against PSV Eindhoven and Celtic there is the danger that the weight of expectation will hang heavy on Wylde's shoulders along with him inevitably being dubbed the next Ibrox superstar. He appears to have his feet on the ground and was courteous to the eager journalists who were looking for a story for the morning papers. There will be a similarity in the different papers quotes as they all sat round with their Dictaphones. He was respective of his father and the support he has provided in his career and follows monk-like existence as he concentrates on establishing himself in the first-team. Let's hope that the likeable man can continue to grow into himself and reach the heights so many have expectations that he can achieve.  GoalkeepersGrant Adam (Rangers)Michael Andrews (Falkirk*)DefendersCallum Booth (Hibs)Paul Hanlon (Hibs)Ross Perry (Rangers**)Steven Saunders (Motherwell)Craig Thomson (Hearts)MidfieldersStuart Armstrong (Dundee United)Tom Cairney (Hull City) James Forrest (Celtic)Liam Kelly (Kilmarnock)Jamie Ness (Rangers)Liam Palmer (Sheffield Wednesday)Nicholas Ross (Inverness Caledonian Thistle)David Wotherspoon (Hibs)Gregg Wylde (Rangers)ForwardsLeigh Griffiths (Dundee)Alex MacDonald (Burnley***)Jordan Rhodes (Huddersfield Town)Johnathon Russell (Dundee United) * On loan to East Stirlingshire** On loan to Falkirk*** On loan to Inverness Caledonian ThistleEditor  Ger Harley (ger@scottishfitba net) Admin Team (admin@scottishfitba net)This is Scottish-Fitba Net
