Allegiances change so quickly during the transfer window

Hamilton Accies have expanded their squad after they signed St Mirren striker Jon McShane on a loan deal until the end of the season. Ther deal was agreed just three days after he played against the New Douglas Park side in a Scottish Cup tie. McShane, who scored 13 times on loan for Dumbarton last season where he won an IRN-BRU Young Player of the Month Award, came on for the Paisley side in Saturday’s goalless draw between the clubs. However, he will now be part of the Accies’ squad for their Friday night First Division match against Partick Thistle. His 33 minute appearance at New Douglas Park means he would have been cup-tied for the replay between the sides next Tuesday night. However, under the competition rules, he would not have been eligible in any case. Hamilton manager Billy Reid said: "Jon is a striker I have had my eye on before. He is a tall, hungry striker who can do well here."
