Stuart McCall is looking forward to taking on Spanish side Levante in Europa League after getting a taste for European action. It wasn't a pleasant taste as the Steelmen lost 5-0 an aggregate in their Champions League debut but were never outclassed against a clinical Greek side. McCall was please at how his players passed the ball for most of the two legs and the experience has whetted their appetite for the play-off against last season's surprise package in La Liga. The Valencia-based outfit finished sixth after being in the upper reaches for most of the season. Ahead of today's home game against St Johnstone, McCall said: "I don't know a great deal about Levante. I know they had a terrific season and being a Spanish side they will be technically gifted. I'm pleased. It's easy for the supporters to get to, possibly not as hot as Greece but you never know. I'd settle for the same performance at home against Panathinaikos. There was nothing between the sides other than the two goals. We took a lot of positives and it was good to be involved. The other night was terrific, to play at that stadium. Everyone enjoyed it bar the result." McCall signed teenage centre-back Fraser Kerr on loan from Birmingham but he will not be considered for today's game and McCall has few options to change his side after their exertions in Athens and arrival at 5.30am on Thursday morning. He said: "I don't think it will be a problem mentally because the boys took a lot of positives. I don't think we got passed off the park or got dominated. The heat, the four-hour flight and the time we got home might be, but if you think you're tired then you will be tired. The players looked fresh in training this morning. Also the supporters have been outstanding, they have really got behind the team. We are playing our first home game in the SPL and want to pay them back." Kerr has been training with Motherwell for the last few weeks and was previously on their books. McCall said: "He has got good pace and strength. Steven Saunders needs an operation on his knee and although Simon Ramsden has been playing there, he can play in other positions and we just felt we needed cover in there." McCall now hopes to add more players to his squad after planned discussions with directors Leeann Dempster and Derek Weir. He said: "I'm not guaranteeing it but I'll sit down with Leeann and Derek next week and discuss it. It's been hectic here recently as you can imagine. There might be an opportunity to bring one or two players in."
