Martin in positive mood
Russell Martin insists Scotland can take plenty of positives from their game against England into the World Cup qualifying clash with Belgium despite suffering defeat in their last outing.
The Scots slumped to a 3-2 loss at Wembley in a friendly against the Three Lions last month, having taken the lead twice.
The outcome may ultimately have been a disappointment but Martin believes Gordon Strachan's men can take heart from aspects of the performance as they prepare to host the Belgians.
The defender said: "At the time, the defeat was hard to take. We were disappointed in that dressing room.
"We missed out on a real chance to get a result down there.
"Looking back on it now, at times, especially in the first half, we dominated possession and created a few good chances and we kept the ball well.
"There was a really solid base there and if we can keep the ball, like we did at times in the first half, for longer periods of the game, we will have a right good chance of getting results against top teams."
Belgium head to Glasgow top of group A, while Scotland's qualification hopes are long gone following a poor start to the campaign.
Martin added: "We are at home and we will have the crowd right behind us.
"After the last two performances, regardless of the last result, I think we've got plenty to be positive about and plenty to look forward to going into a big game."
