Hotscots FC, Edinburgh's LGBT friendly club will host the first ever LGBT friendly football tournament to be held in Scotland at Edinburgh's Corn Exchange World of Football on Valentines day from 1pm. The tournament has attracted teams from all over the UK, with teams travelling up from Leeds, Newcastle and London to name a few, to join in the festivities, along with Aberdeen’s Granite City Stormers sending a team down.  The event is being held to commemorate two full years since the Hotscots played their first ever 11-a-side game, and will be contributing to two charities on the day.Radio Forth’s 'cash for kids' campaign will be a beneficiary as £1 for every player on the day will go straight to their charity.  Radio Forth themselves will be entering a team littered with local celebrities to enjoy the day. The British Heart Foundation will also be in attendance looking to raise awareness of the importance of keeping a healthy lifestyle along with the ActivCity group.  In all it is hoped that around 200 people will be in attendance at the event.Hotscots Chairman, Kevin Rowe is looking forward to the event.  He said: "It’s the first time we’ve organised a whole tournament ourselves, and I’m delighted with the response not just from the local community.  I think it’s great that we have a number of sides coming up from England to join in.  In the last year we’ve now raised over £500 for charitable causes, this is key to the success of the club going forward in being a strong community player."So, are the hosts favourites to win?  Kevin played down the Hotscots chances saying: "At the end of the day for our teams although winning would be great, it’s more about getting people to take part.  That was our philosophy at the outset of forming the Hotscots, getting people from all walks of life to take up the beautiful game and show they love football too.  But I won’t complain if a Hotscots side lifts the trophy!"Among the sides competing on Sunday 14th February as well as teams from Aberdeen, Leeds, London and Newcastle will be local sides from Radio Forth, Haddington, Boroughmuir and the Gala Maybury Casino.
