Moving from Junior football can be a big step but a loan to gain experience has worked for Jamie Benton

Jamie Benton’s time out on loan has earned him a chance in the East Stirlingshire first team. The youngster was recruited by head coach John Coughlin last summer from Renfrew under-21s and put out on loan  with Junior side Maryhill. Coughlin has been impressed by the reports of Benton's form and has recalled the midfielder to gat a chance in the Third Division..The loan was arranged to allow Benton to gain experience and Coughlin believes that the time is now right for the midfielder to shine in the SFL. He said: "We were getting great reviews about Jamie from Maryhill and he looked good in training so we have given him a couple of outings with our side. He has not looked out of place at all and I would like to involve Jamie with us until the end of the season."
