Livingston Can Plan Their First Division Campaign From Now On

09 April 2011 22:27
Congratulations to Livingston who are now back in the First Division. Livingston secured promotion in successive seasons with a comfortable 3-0 win over Stenhousemuir today. Livi were relegated to Division Three in 2009 after going into administration, but have made the shortest possible work of getting back to where they were.  The visitors opened the scoring on the half-hour mark, with Kyle Jacobs sweeping home a right-footed shot from inside the area. The Warriors managed to keep out the league leaders for a while without creating many chances themselves, Brian Gilmuir having one of the few shots after 58 minutes which was comfortably saved by Scott Gibb. Livingston doubled their lead, though, shortly after that chance, with Liam Fox volleying home from the centre of the goal.  The Lions then capped a famous afternoon with a David Sinclair goal, leaving them free to contemplate life in the First Division next season. Stenhousemuir remain second from bottom and five points adrift of safety.
