Levein wants more confident display

Craig Levein wants his Scotland players to have "more swagger" about them going into tonight's 2014 World Cup qualifier against Macedonia at Hampden Park.

The Scots drew a blank in their Group A opener against Serbia at the national stadium on Saturday and are under pressure to take all three points against a side who narrowly lost 1-0 in Croatia on Friday night. Levein was not unhappy with his team's performance or work-rate at the weekend but is looking for his men to show more confidence.

He said: "I keep saying to the players, we should have more swagger, we should be more confident and that is what we are aiming towards."

Levein added: "That is what we are trying to achieve, that's why we are sticking together and everyone is really tight.

"Every time you pull on a Scotland jersey there is a responsibility and I know I have a responsibility as a manager.

"But I think the fans do understand that every time we go out to represent Scotland we are doing our best. We are working as hard as we can and preparing as well as possible."

Meanwhile, Kenny Miller insists he will have no complaints if tasked with the lone striker role once again.

He said: "The role has become pretty familiar to me over the years, whether it be at club or international level.

"The manager is the one who will make the decision. He sets us up for games and 99 times out of 100, I feel he's got it right in the way we set up.

"He will play us in the way he feels is best for us to get the three points. If that's one up, it will be one up. If it's two up, it will be two up. We are happy with the way we play and if we can improve on what we did on Saturday, I think we will be okay."
