Lennon Wants To Get That Winning Habit

Danny Lennon would like to have the record of his namesake, Neil, but things have not worked out that way so far. Saturday provides a chance to make that first step along the way to a decent run. As St Mirren struggle, manager Danny Lennon admits he is hurting at entering unchartered territory. Saints are at the bottom of the SPL after losing their last four games. This is the longest losing streak Lennon has had to endure in his short managerial career which saw him win two successive promotions at Cowdenbeath before he left to join the Buddies in the summer. They meet second bottom Hamilton at home on Saturday when a win will see them overtake their visitors. Lennon said: "Every game is important for us but losing four is the longest run I've had so that is difficult. It's a new level and it's hard because there has been so many positives to take from the games. But I hurt. Danny Lennon is used to winning football games albeit at lower levels. I hurt and I know that the players and fans hurt. But what I will say is that you have to remain positive. I am learning very quickly at this level that errors are costing us. What you have to do is school the players in a proper manner to make sure that it doesn't happen again but the way our luck has gone, we can't have too many more mistakes left in us." Lennon admits he is "pessimistic rather than optimistic", about the prospect of having 20-year-old Australian midfielder Aaron Mooy signed for the game against Accies. Saints are still trying reach a financial agreement with Bolton over the free agent but the Paisley boss said: "He is certainly the type of player that we want at this club but we are not in a financial position to be paying anyone and we were up front about that. If we can make it happen we will and we are working hard with the agent and there might be other ways around it but we certainly don't have money to pay. We will see how it progresses today but I would be pessimistic rather than optimistic. I'm not building myself up but if we get him it will be a real bonus for us."
